World premiere of "Sakontala" on stage

Rasmussen's completion of Franz Schubert's unfinished opera "Sakontala" will receive its world premiere as a full scale opera production at the Stateopera in Saarbrücken on the 27th of March.

Præsentation af Richter i Budapest.

Den 22. marts, som en del af Budapest Spring Festival, vil Karl Aage Rasmussen holde et foredrag om den store sovjetiske pianist Svjatoslav Richter. Samtidig udkommer Rasmussens roste bog om pianistens liv og kunst på ungarsk, se her. Foredraget finder sted før en koncert med den danske Trio Con Brio. Forlæggeren Bela Reviczky vil være aftenens vært.

Presentation of Richter in Budapest

On the 22nd of March , as part of the Budapest Spring Festival, Karl Aage Rasmussen is giving a lecture on Sviatoslav Richter. In this context he will also present his biography of the great Soviet pianist, right now available in Hungarian, look here. The presentation takes place before a concert with the Danish Trio Con Brio. Mediator will be Rasmussen's Hungarian publisher Bela Reviczky.

Rasmussen's acclaimed book on the life and art of the Sovjet pianist Sviatoslav Richter is now available in English from the American publisher Northeastern University Press.
